Easy-To-Prepare Cough Home Remedies

Once cooled, you can refrigerate the mixture and take 2 tablespoons of this syrup three to four times daily until such time your cough goes away.
2. Cabbage Soup
One of the most effective cures for cough is cabbage. To prepare, you need to boil about two cups of water and then put an entire cabbage into it. Let it boil for a few more minutes and then simmer. Drinking this soup at night is most recommended, although if the cough is a bit severe you can take it twice daily, in the morning and at night. Cabbage soup is ancient cure for whooping cough and should be effective in ridding you of your coughing problem.
You probably haven’t heard of this yet but pomegranate is an excellent remedy for cough. What you need to do is grind the pomegranate rind and mix with a teaspoon of rock salt. You can also opt to mix ground garlic with pomegranate juice, and drink it twice daily if you find the pill too strong for you.
4. Mustard Oil
One of the oldest cough home remedies is the use of mustard oil. For children, you can use this oil to massage on the chest area. This also helps asthmatic patients, by the way, to relieve them of chest congestion. When you mix mustard oil with rock salt, the effects are even better.
